Research vs. Google Search

We're well into the the 21st century now and just about every single one of us carry a fantastic device that can answer just about any question we have on a whim. Our smartphones, yay! They're great for finding out a company's telephone number and/or hours or who that guy in the movie was, you know, important stuff.
Usually the ever-powerful Google search is where we go to find out what we need to know. But, sometimes, you need to know more. When it's important, you need facts and specific details. That's where the Montana Statewide Library Resources come in. The Montana State Library provides a wonderful tool that allows you to search various reliable databases using a single search box. It's called DiscoverIt! You can find this search tool by going to mtslr.org.

Changes in Our Library

WOW! You should come into to Rosebud County Library just to see all the changes that have happened in the last year. It all started with the installation of new carpet last fall. Which led to moving every single thing in the library around anyway. So we really re-vamped everything!

Every gathering area in the library got a great facelift. We swapped the children's area with the adult lounge area, really giving each separate area a much better layout. The adults have better natural light for reading newspapers and magazines now. Plus, a Keurig coffee machine has been added to the lounge. The children's area now has great spaces for story hour, playing and crafts. A cool new rug was added along with some really cool custom furniture made by own very own local patrons.

The teen area stayed in the same place but got some really awesome updates to bring it back into style. New paint on the main wall along with some great new shelves, crafted and installed by a local patron, really made the area pop. A wonderful photo collage done by one of our teen patrons was hung right in the middle of the wall and it all looks great together. The local high school shop class helped put together a cool pallet couch which the library tied together with cushions and cool coverings.
